Put a plug in it.

Can you name the bourbon with eight unique stoppers? Click read more to find out.

If you guessed Blanton's you would be correct.  Blanton's is a brand of single barrel bourbon owned by Age International and produced by the Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY.  Aside from being delicious, Blanton's has the distinction of being considered the first "single barrel" bourbon on the modern market.

A single barrel bourbon is a bourbon that is made from literally a single barrel rather than a blend of multiple barrels. Introduced in the 1980's by Buffalo Trace's Master Distiller, Elmer T. Lee, the bourbon was to honor the man who hired Elmer at the George T. Stagg distillery (now the Buffalo Trace Distillery).  Since that time single barrel bourbons have exploded in popularity.

Blanton's also has a cool thing going on with it's cork stoppers. Each of the eight stoppers currently in use depict a horse and jockey in a different portion of a horse race.  Next to each horse is stamped a small letter.  When properly arranged the letters on the stoppers spell out B-L-A-N-T-O-N-S.  There are two different stoppers for the letter "N" as it appears twice in the name.

If you decide to collect all 8, and it should be easy considering how delicious Blanton's is, you're going to need a place to display them.  You might want to check this specially made display stave from the Buffalo Trace gift store.  You can buy a version with the complete collection of stoppers, but that's just cheating.

Don't cheat yourself out of good bourbon -S
